Denzel Mitchell and Gail Taylor have been blazing a trail for urban farming in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. over the past decade. In this episode, Spike talks to the two farmer leaders about their personal journeys as farmers and the unique challenges and opportunities that growing food in cities presents. Then, they turn their attention to the future to discuss how they’re now each transitioning into new chapters of furthering local food production, Denzel as head of the Farm Alliance of Baltimore and Gail as co-owner of Spice Creek Farm in Southern Maryland.
